Lanny Thomas was officially sworn in Thursday to serve as the new state senator for District 53, marking a milestone for both his family and constituents across Northwest Georgia.
Thomas took the oath of office in Atlanta, calling the moment a significant honor and pledging to represent all residents of the district. In a statement, he thanked supporters and emphasized his commitment to serving families, workers, small businesses, and communities throughout the region.
“Today was a special day for our family and for Northwest Georgia as I was officially sworn in,” Thomas said. “It is an honor I do not take lightly.”
He also expressed appreciation to family and friends who traveled to the Capitol to witness the ceremony, saying their support played a key role in his journey to office.
