A Georgia Department of Transportation contractor will be installing pedestrian and signal upgrades at eight locations in Walker County. These upgrades will include traffic control devices, ground disturbance activities and may require periodic utility shutdowns. The project locations are:
SR 1/Chickamauga Avenue @ Hogan Rd (Rossville Georgia)
SR 1/US 27 @ LaFayette Rd/Food Lion (City of Chickamauga)
SR 1/US 27 @ Lee Gordon Mill Rd (Chickamauga)
SR 1/US 27 @ SR 95 (Rock Spring)
SR 1/US 27 @ Pearl Dr (City of LaFayette, GA – Local Government)
SR 1/US 27 @ SR 136/Lake Howard Rd (LaFayette)
SR 1/US 27 @ Warthen St/Round Pound Rd (LaFayette)
SR 193/W Main St @ Cherokee St (LaFayette)
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of September 2025.
