Road construction is set to resume later this month at Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, with improvements planned along Dyer Road inside the Chickamauga Battlefield.
Park officials say the project will begin April 27 and is expected to continue through late May 2026. The work is part of routine road-paving maintenance aimed at improving visitor safety and enhancing the overall experience for those traveling through the historic site.
During construction, Dyer Road will be closed between LaFayette Road and Glenn-Kelly Road. Drivers should also expect single-lane traffic between Glenn-Kelly Road and Chickamauga-Vittetoe Road.
Visitors are urged to use caution when traveling near construction zones and to slow down when approaching equipment or workers.
Officials noted the project will not affect the official Chickamauga Battlefield tour route, though some temporary inconveniences are expected.
