Rock Spring Elementary School is celebrating one of its educators after STEM teacher Ralph Keith secured a $25,500 grant through the Mockingbird Charitable Fund, bringing new educational opportunities to students.

School officials announced the award this week, praising Keith for his dedication to enhancing classroom experiences through grant writing and innovative programming.

A portion of the funding, $1,000, will be used to launch the school’s new Art Lab, where third- and fifth-grade students will participate in hands-on lessons that combine art and STEM education. The program is designed to encourage creativity, innovation, and problem-solving by integrating artistic expression with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

According to the school, Keith consistently seeks out grant opportunities that provide additional resources and learning experiences for students. Administrators said the latest grant reflects his ongoing commitment to expanding educational opportunities and enriching the learning environment at Rock Spring Elementary.

School leaders expressed their appreciation for Keith’s efforts, noting that his passion, dedication, and countless hours of work continue to make a lasting impact on students and the school community.

The grant is expected to provide new tools and experiences that will help students develop creative thinking and hands-on skills while supporting Rock Spring Elementary’s commitment to academic excellence.
