The Walker County Tax Commissioner’s Office in Rock Spring will remain closed to the public through Thursday, April 23, following water damage caused by a burst pipe.
County officials say cleanup and repairs are underway, but the office will not reopen until it is safe for both employees and customers.
In the meantime, residents can conduct business at the Tax Commissioner’s Office in Rossville, located at 2012 McFarland Gap Road. That office will operate on extended hours — from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday — to help accommodate the increased demand.
Officials say six service windows will be fully staffed at the Rossville location to ensure transactions can be handled as efficiently as possible.
Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly while the Rock Spring office remains closed.
