The Al Millard Memorial Stocking Full of Love of Walker County has once again triumphed in spreading holiday cheer and honoring the memory of the late Sheriff Al Millard. In its 35th year, the event accomplished its mission of ensuring every child in Walker County receives a gift on Christmas.
The core values of compassion, resourcefulness, and stewardship guided the organizers’ efforts in fundraising, receiving donations, and hosting toy giveaways, striving to make certain that no child in the community is without a gift during the festive season.
The Walker County Chamber of Commerce expressed their joy and gratitude on their Facebook page, sharing their experience hosting the Stocking Full of Love luncheon at the Civic Center. Attendees and supporters generously contributed gifts, resulting in over 50 toys donated. The community’s generosity was highlighted, and the Chamber extended special thanks to The Evitt Foundation for sponsoring the luncheon.
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office also took to social media to express their gratitude. The 35th year of the Al Millard Memorial Stocking Full of Love toy store concluded with heartfelt thanks to the dedicated individuals who work on the event year-round and the volunteers who selflessly contribute their time and effort. The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that the success of the event would not be possible without the support and collaboration of the community.
As the year comes to a close, the success of the Al Millard Memorial Stocking Full of Love serves as an example of the power of community, compassion, and the holiday spirit coming together to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families in Walker County.
