The Walker County Animal Shelter is joining shelters across the country for BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Summer “Empty the Shelters” event, offering reduced and waived adoption fees throughout the month of July.

The event runs July 5 through July 26 and aims to help more cats and dogs find loving homes. Shelter officials say countless animals are currently waiting for a second chance, and the adoption event provides an opportunity for families to welcome a new pet while helping reduce overcrowding in shelters.

During the event, potential adopters can take advantage of special adoption pricing and meet animals currently available at the Walker County Animal Shelter.

Residents interested in adopting are encouraged to visit the shelter during the event period and help give a deserving pet a new home.
