Walker County residents will soon head back to the polls as officials prepare for the 2026 General Primary Runoff Election, with early voting scheduled to begin June 8.

According to the Walker County Elections & Registration Office, early voting for the runoff election will take place June 8–12 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day at two locations: the Walker County Elections Office at 311 South Main Street in LaFayette and the Chickamauga Civic Center located at 1817 Lee Clarkson Road in Chickamauga.

Election Day is set for Tuesday, June 16, with voters casting ballots at their assigned precincts across the county.

Election officials are also reminding voters about Georgia’s runoff election rules. Voters who participated in a party’s primary election must vote in the same party’s runoff and cannot cross over to another party’s ballot. However, voters who did not vote in the primary election may choose either runoff ballot. Those who previously voted a nonpartisan ballot are also eligible to select either party’s runoff ballot.

Walker County Elections & Registration encourages residents to make plans now to participate in the upcoming runoff election.
