The latest booking report from the Walker County jail shows two felony arrests on Sunday.  21-year-old Askyah Tatiana Howard was charged with possession with the intent to distribute and possession of a schedule II.  67-year-old Forrest Wesley Bell was arrested on charges of false imprisonment and simple assault.
Gas prices locally have dropped.  According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Walker, Dade and Catoosa county is now $3.03.  That’s the cheapest in the state.  State wide the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline is down about a penny from last week to $3.22.  Georgian’s are paying about $2 less at the pump compared to this time last month.
The Catoosa County School Board voted on the possibility of a tax increase for property owners.  The board unanimously approved a 14.87% rollback millage rate.  By state law, Boards of Education aren’t allowed to increase their millage rates above the rate advertised to the public, which was 15.04%.  The board had proposed a 30% tax increase to fund the school budget.
The Chattanooga Police Department is looking for the driver of a Kia Sportage involved in a road rage killing on Rossville Boulevard.  The incident happened last Thursday morning.  Police say the Kia followed a black Nissan Frontier pick truck driven by Eugene Carson of Tunnell Hill for over two miles.  When Carson stopped at the red light at 37th Street and Rossville Boulevard the Kia pull up next to it and opened fire.  Chattanooga Police said that Carson died at the scene.  If you have any information about this murder.  Please call the Chattanooga Police Department.
