The U.S. Census Bureau has released new estimates for Walker County. It currently numbers the population at 68,915 residents as of July 1, 2022. This new number shows a growth of 1,255 new residents since 2020.
This growth gives an answer to the growth in available housing in Walker. The Planning Office issued 39 new permits for single family homes in the month of March making a total of 91 permits that have been issued.
