The Walker County Board of Commissioners will meet today at 6:30 p.m. to consider several items affecting county infrastructure, development and animal control policies.
Among the items on the agenda is a public hearing regarding the proposed abandonment of Concord Road. Commissioners are also expected to consider a rezoning request submitted by Joan Brown for property located at the corner of Highway 151 and Highway 136.
The board will review plans for renovations to the former Primary Healthcare building in LaFayette, which is expected to become the future home of the Walker County Extension Office.
Commissioners are also scheduled to consider a resolution establishing a fee for unaltered animal licenses.
The meeting will be held at Courthouse Annex IV, located at 201 South Duke Street in LaFayette. Residents unable to attend in person can watch the meeting live on the county’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Due to the Independence Day holiday period, the board’s July meeting has been moved to July 9.
