The Walker County Local Government Services office in Rock Spring has been temporarily closed following significant water damage that impacted multiple areas of the building.
Officials say the closure comes after flooding on the first floor and water damage reported on the second floor. The extent of the damage has forced operations to shut down at the Rock Spring location until further notice.
In response, services are being redirected to the Rossville office, located at 2012 McFarland Avenue. That office will operate on extended hours, open Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., to accommodate those affected by the closure.
A damage assessment is currently underway by Servpro to determine the full scope of repairs needed. Officials expect to provide an update on the Rock Spring office’s status and a possible reopening timeline on Monday.
Residents who typically rely on the Rock Spring location are encouraged to use the Rossville office until further notice.
