Sharing their Pinwheels for Child Abuse Prevention Day on their YouTube channel, the Walker County Government advertised the steps being taken to aid in Child Abuse prevention in Walker County. Specifically highlighting their Foster system process, Walker County asked for members of the community to consider joining the Foster Program by going through the classes and training necessary. Currently there are 28 foster homes and 154 children in foster care. If interested in joining the Foster Program, call 1-855-GA-CHILD.
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Today, members of the Walker County community “planted” pinwheels in front of the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services building to raise awareness about child abuse. In Georgia, reports of child abuse and neglect can be made to 1-855-GA CHILD (1-855-422-4453).
