Families preparing for the upcoming school year will have an opportunity to pick up free school supplies, backpacks and access valuable community resources during Walker County Kids’ Day later this month.
The annual back-to-school event is scheduled for Thursday, July 30, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Saddle Ridge Elementary School, located at 9858 U.S. Highway 27 in Rock Spring.
Organizers say the event is designed to help students and families get ready for the first day of school by providing a variety of free services and supplies. While attending, families can receive free school supplies, backpacks, vision, hearing and dental screenings, immunizations, and participate in free activities. Community organizations will also be on hand to connect families with local resources. All free items will be distributed while supplies last.
Walker County Kids’ Day is sponsored by Walker County Family Connection, Walker School Foundation and Primary Healthcare Centers.
