The Walker County Planning Commission will consider a pair of property requests during its next meeting scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Walker County Civic Center.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and includes public hearings on a variance request near Chickamauga and a rezoning request involving property in the LaFayette area.
Robert Wallin is requesting a variance for property located at 807 Camp Road in Chickamauga. The property is currently located in an A-1 Agricultural zone. According to the meeting agenda, Wallin is seeking a variance from the requirement involving properties of less than five acres in the A-1 district.
The commission will also hear a request from Michael Camp to rezone property at 3561 Highway 337 in LaFayette. Camp is requesting that the property be changed from A-1 Agricultural to R-2 Residential.
Members of the Planning Commission are scheduled to open a public hearing before considering the two requests. Following the hearing, commissioners will close the public hearing and move into new business, where the Wallin and Camp requests are listed for consideration.
The commission will also consider approval of minutes from its Aug. 20 meeting.
