The Walker County Tag & Tax Office in Rock Spring has officially reopened after being closed for several months due to extensive water damage.

According to Walker County officials, the office, located inside the Local Government Services building, sustained substantial damage in April when a pipe burst overnight, flooding several offices and public areas of the facility.

The flooding forced the closure of the Rock Spring office while crews worked to repair the damage and restore the affected areas of the building.

Following months of repairs and restoration work, the county announced that the Tag & Tax Office reopened on Monday, October 12.

The reopening restores access to tag and tax services at the Rock Spring location for Walker County residents.

Residents can once again visit the office for services following the restoration work.
