A multi-vehicle crash yesterday on Highway 193 at Woodland Road in Flintsone.  The at-fault driver was arrested on DUI charges and has been booked into the Walker County Jail.   

Movie goers all over the country can head to the theaters for just $4 this Sunday.  Sunday, August 27 is National Cinema Day in the U.S. Both Regal Cinemas and AMC Theatres are participating.  At both AMC and Regal, movie tickets will be just $4 on Sunday.  Plus, popcorn and drink combos are on sale.  At AMC, the small popcorn and drink combos are $5. At Regal, the small popcorn and drink combos are $4.

The Catoosa County Board of Commissioners, Catoosa County Public Facility Authority and the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia are asking citizens to share their ideas about the redevelopment of the Hutcheson Hospital property through an online survey.  The Catoosa County Economic Development Authority accepted the donation of the hospital and its surrounding 30-acre property in December 2021. Then the property was transferred to the Catoosa County Public Facility Authority.  CHI Memorial Hospital continues to serve north Georgia at the main building through a leasing agreement.  CHI Memorial announced plans to start construction of a new, state-of-the-art hospital to serve north Georgia in the near future.   Citizens can share their input about the redevelopment by taking a short online survey at  www.survey.uga.edu/HutchesonBuilding.
A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that 964,272 visitors to Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park in 2022 spent $63,644,000 in communities near the park. That spending supported 905 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $81,396,000.
