The Walker County Historic Preservation Commission will have a work session next Tuesday September 5th.  The meeting is at 6pm at the LaFayette-Walker County Public Library on South Duke Street in LaFayette.  The public is invited to attend.

Rossville Native Lauren Alaina will headline the Hamilton County Fair in November.  The Hamilton County Fair is set for November 10th, 11th and 12th.  County Music up and comer Brandon Davis will be the opening act.

Cooler weather is coming.  Tomorrow and Friday should feature great weather.  Mid-60’s in the mornings and mid-80’s in the afternoons with sunny skies.  Temps will be back around 90 over the weekend and on Labor Day.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Communications Commission announced a planned test of the national Emergency Alert System on Oct. 4 of this year.  In the past, the alert test would cause all phones, televisions or radios and stereos to emit a loud, blarring tone before announcing that it was a test and that no response was needed.  The assessment this coming October will consist of two, separate demonstrations of the emergency broadcasts: the Emergency Alert System (EAS), which will broadcast to all televisions and radios in range, and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA), which will send a message to all cell phones that are in range of receivers 

The LaFayette Ramblers are 1-1 on the young season.  LaFayette takes this Friday night off.  Ramblers travel to Sonoraville next Friday night, September 8th.
