Earlier this week Governor Brian Kemp declared a State of Emergency across Georgia due to the potential impact of Hurricane Idalia. This declaration triggers important consumer protections which were signed into law in 2020 and 2021.  Senate Bill 391 allows for the early refill of a 30-day prescription, regardless of when it was last fulfilled, for a Georgia resident of a county either under a state of emergency declared by the Governor or a hurricane warning from the National Weather Service.

Georgia’s top election official paid Catoosa County a visit on Wednesday to make sure the machines voters use there are fully functional and secure.  Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger conducted a ‘health checkup’ and met with Catoosa County election officials, as part of a check of all of Georgia’s 159 counties.  
 
The Georgia Bulldogs open their quest for a third straight national championship Saturday night.  The Dawgs open the season against the alma mater of Pat Summitt, UT-Martin.  Kickoff is set for 6pm from Sanford Stadium in Athens.
