Road closures are happening today in LaFayette. Some roads will be closed due to the Music on Main concert featuring Craig Campbell. At noon today, Main Street will be closed from Villanow to Patton. At 5pm, Main Street will close through Culberson. Villanow Street closes from Duke Street to Cherokee Street. Patton Street will close from Duke Street to Cherokee Street.
Deer hunting season in Georgia opens a week from tomorrow, Saturday October 21st. Deer hunting season continues through January 14th. Georgia deer hunters must have a hunting license, big game license and a current deer harvest record. All are available at Go Outdoors Georgia.com
A Ringgold doctor and his medical practice violated the False Claims Act, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. A federal district judge ordered Dr. Charles Adams and his practice to pay over $27 million for violating the FCA. His practice is called Personal Integrative Medicine, or Full Circle. According to the DOJ, Adams and his company submitted more than 4,400 false claims to Medicare.
It may still be October, but the United States Postal Service has already announced their shipping and mailing deadlines for the holiday season. For the United States, excluding Alaska and Hawaii, the deadlines to make sure deliveries are received by December 25 are as follows:
- USPS Ground Advantage – December 16
- First-Class Mail (including greeting cards) – December 16
- Priority Mail – December 18
- Priority Mail Express – December 20
The latest restaurant inspection report says the Taco Bell on North Main Street in LaFayette got a 97. Wanda’s Restaurant in Rock Spring scored 100.
