The City of LaFayette is holding discussions tonight on the city’s branding plans.  There is no agenda for the meeting and nothing will be voted on.  The public is invited to attend.  The meeting is at 6pm at the LaFayette Library.
Gas prices in the state of Georgia continue to fall.  According to Triple-A, the price for a gallon of regular unleaded is averaging $2.79 across the state.  Prices are about 25-cents less than this time a year ago.  Walker County has some of the least expensive gas prices in the state.  The average price for a gallon of gas in Catoosa, Dade and Walker Counties is $2.66.
Catoosa County has issued an outdoor burning ban.  County officials say the extreme drought in the area has caused the ban.  No outdoor burning is allowed.  That includes no burning of leaves, brush, debris, campfires or trash.  The ban will remain in effect until the Board of Commissioners repeals the emergency declaration.  This will be decided based on advice from the Catoosa County Fire Department and the Georgia Forestry Commission.
Georgia and Alabama play Saturday for the SEC Championship.  Kickoff is set for 4pm.  You can watch the game on CBS.  The Las Vegas sports books have listed Georgia as a 4 ½ point favorite in the game.
