A 43-year-old Flintstone man was arrested yesterday on drug charges.  Eric Upshaw was found to be in possession of crack cocaine and powdered cocaine weighing 20 grams, 2 ounces of meth and 1 ½ pounds of marijuana.  Agents from the Drug Task Force served a search warrant on Upshaw’s residence on Nancy Lane.  Upshaw has been booked at the Walker County Detention Facility and charged with trafficking in meth and possession of cocaine and marijuana with the intent to distribute.  Upshaw was also found with a firearm.  He was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  Upshaw as already on probation from a previous drug charge.
The Walker County Detention Center arrested three individuals Wednesday on felony drug charges.  31-year-old Chandler Lee Brookes, 30-year-old Tanner McKenzie Collins and 33 year old Casey Kollier Collins were charged with possession of meth with the intent to distribute.  Both Tanner and Casey Collins were also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The Amazing Christmas Light Show in LaFayette is back up and running.  Last weekends storms did damage that forced a shut down of hte lights until repairs could be made.
The Walker County Commission last night voted to resend the burn ban.  The resolution goes into effect immediately.
