A man stole a cell phone at a gas station in Catoosa County Monday, and authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.  According to the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office, the man stole a cell phone that someone accidentally left on a fountain drink counter.  This happened sometime between 11 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.  Deputies said the suspect’s driver door on his truck does not appear to work.

The suspect has a mustache and was driving a gold/beige pickup truck.  They ask that anyone who recognizes the suspect contacts Detective LeeAnn Moody at 706-935-2424, extension 1017.

Whether you’re buying a gift card online or grabbing one off the shelf at a store, the Better Business Bureau says you should shop carefully to make sure you’re not falling for a scam.

The BBB has some tips to stay safe.  They advise you to double check websites that offer to check your gift card’s balance. Scammers are now making web pages that look legitimate to access the card information and drain the fund on the card.  Also, treat any gift card like cash and report it if it goes missing.
