A Blue Ridge Georgia man died in Chattooga County after an ATV accident on Monday.  82-year-old Alton Jerry Jordan was found around 1am at the Silver Creek Hunting Club on Haywood Valley Road.  Jordan was found by authorities after reports of a missing man were filed.  Jordan was apparently trying to turn to navigate down a steep hill.  The ATV he was driving rolled over multiple times and landed on top of him.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Work has started on a new agricultural pavilion at Ridgeland High School.  Walker County received at $100,000 grant last year from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.  When the structure is finished it will be used for ag-related civic organizations and activities.  Construction is expected to be finished by the end of the month.
Senator Jon Ossoff says our region in Georgia could see two new federal judges under a new bill.  The bipartisan Judicial Understaffing Delays Getting Emergencies Solved (JUDGES) Act recently passed the U.S. Senate.  The bill addresses delays in the federal court system because of a growing number of cases.  The Northern District of Georgia got 637 filing per judge last year, which was an increase of about a hundred.  The judges would be added to the courthouses in Atlanta, Gainesville, Newnan and Rome in 2027 and 2033.  The Government hasn’t created a new judgeship since 2003.  The bill still must pass the U.S. House.
Four felony arrests in Walker County on Labor Day.  32-year-old Billy Joe Rhodes and 34-year-old Stephanie Loveon Knox were both charged with possession of meth.
