The regular monthly meeting of the LaFayette City Council is set for today. The meeting starts at 6:30pm at City Hall on South Duke Street.

The Walker County Detention Center reported 8 felony arrests between Friday and Saturday. 43-year-old Ted Lamar Steele was arrested on charges of simple assault and damage to government property. 60-year-old Stophan Bennett Laman was arrested for failure to register as a sex offender.

Someone in the state of Georgia woke up a big winner yesterday. According to the Georgia Lottery, a Powerball ticket sold in the state won a million dollars Saturday night. Another Powerball drawing is happening tonight. If someone hits every number, they would take home $270-million.

The Region 6-AAA basketball tournament starts today at Adairsville. Georgia 93-7 will bring you complete coverage of the tournament. We’ll have every game live from Adairsville High School. Adairsville is the top seed in the boys bracket along with Coahulla Creek. Both teams finished 12-2 in the regular season. LaFayette was a game back at 11-3. On the girls side LFO won the regular season at 12-2. LaFayette finished 6-8 in region play, 11-11 overall. Action begins today at 2:50pm ET.
