The LaFayette City Council will meet today to approve a new city budget.  The meeting is set for noon today and will be held at the Lafayette Golf Course.
Only two felony arrests on Saturday in Walker County.  Among those booked, 34-year-old Zachary Raphel Barrett faces DUI and possession charges along with driving on a suspended license.
Congresswoman Majorie Taylor Green will hold three Town Hall meetings this week in Northwest Georgia.  The first is tomorrow at 6pm in Murray County.  Thursday night she is scheduled to appear in Dade County.  Attendance is limited and you have to register for the event if you plan on attending.
The state or emergency declaration remains in effect in the state of Georgia until Wednesday.  The Georgia Department of Transportation continue to assess the damage both locally and across the state.  G-DOT is working in conjunction with federal, state and local authorities.  Downed power lines and trees remain the biggest problem in our area.  If you need the latest road conditions statewide, call 511.  Visit 511ga.org.  There are still more than half a million Georgia residents without power this today.  No power outages have been reported in Walker County.
