The Walker County Board of Commissioners has adjusted it’s meeting schedule for the rest of the year. The Board of Commissioners will meet October 24, November 14 and December 19. The meetings start at 6:30pm at the Walker County Courthouse Annex III at 201 South Main Street in LaFayette.
Angie Teems, the incoming Chair of the Walker County Commission is holding a public forum tomorrow night. The public is invited to attend and provide feedback on important issues in the community. The forum tomorrow night is set for 6pm at eh Walker County Civic Center in Rock Spring.
Only one felony arrests to report from Saturday in Walker County. 53-year-old Raymond Leon Smith was charged with possession of meth, possession of a schedule II and two counts of possession of a schedule IV.
Allyson Ford has been named as the new president of the Walker County Chamber of Commerce. Ford takes over the office starting tomorrow.
If you caught any of the NASCAR race at Talladega yesterday, you might have seen some familiar faces. The Ridgeland High School Chorus sang “America The Beautiful” prior to the start of the race.
The LaFayette Lady Rambler Flag Football team split two games last week. LHS defeated Dalton Academy 33-0. They lost to Heritage 27-0. The Lady Ramblers are back in action later this week. Thursday they travel to Marietta to face Mt Paran and North Paulding.
