Satellite voting locations in Rossville, Rock Spring, Chickamauga and Fairyland will be open starting today through November 1st. The polls are open from 8am to 5pm. These are in addition to the Courthouse location in LaFayette. You can vote in Rock Spring at GNTC, Rossville Civic Center, Chickamauga Civic Center and Lookout Mountain City Hall.
Last week the Walker County Commission pulled the plug on a proposed agreement to fund the Rossville Recreation Center. The board rescinded the offer after the City of Rossville failed to act on the motion. Beginning November 1st, the rec center will be under management of the Walker County Civic Center. Commissioners say that previous engagements will be honored.
Three felony arrests for possession of a schedule II on Saturday in Walker County. Those arrested; 23-year-old Cruz Alan Housley, 35-year-old Anthony George Santora and 33-year-old Alley Danelle Seders.
The City of LaFayette is having their annual Scare on the Square event on Thursday. Trick or Treating begins at 5:30pm. If you want to enter the costume contest meet at the Downtown Commons by 5pm. Winners are awarded for pre-K through 12th grade. Best Family Theme and Best Pet Costume.
