The Walker County Sheriff’s Office reported two drug related felony arrests on Memorial Day. 37-year-old Cassidi Brooke Smith was arrested on several drug possession related charges just before 2am on Monday. Tyler Devin Skiles was arrested later in the morning. Skiles faces possession charges and giving a false name and other traffic violations.
The latest restaurant inspection report shows no failing grades in the area. The Sonic in Rossville scored an 89. The American Legion in Rossville scored a 97. The Water Park Cafe at Lake Winnie got a 100.
Cartersville police have arrested multiple people in connection to shootings which took place in last month and earlier in May. The first shooting took place April 23rd. The second happened May 12th. Cartersville police worked with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations to determine the two shootings were related. As a result, 10 people, including one juvenile, have been arrested for their roles in both shootings. All the suspects have been booked into the Bartow County jail.
School might have just let out, but it’s not too early to start thinking about next school year. The sports schedule starts early, LaFayette’s girls softball team begins their season July 31st. The Lady Ramblers will be at home to open the season. The Lady Ramblers are in action all the way until mid-October in the regular season.
