We celebrate out nation’s independence tomorrow.  That often means shooting off fireworks.  A couple of safety reminders for you.  Never allow young children to light fireworks and if you do have kids around fireworks make sure they have adult supervision.  Never light fireworks inside and never shoot them at another person.  Never try to relight a firework that didn’t work.  Remember to bring your pets inside tomorrow night if fireworks are set off in your area.  The 4th of July is a day when a lot of pets, especially dogs go missing.  Have a safe and happy 4th of July.
Fort Oglethorpe Police arrested Jason Williams on Friday.  Williams faces charges of aggravated assault and armed robbery.  Williams robbed a man early on Friday morning.  Fort Oglethorpe Police were able to track down and arrest Williams with the help of the GBI, TBI and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
The Walker County Detention Center says five individuals were booked on Friday and Saturday and charged with DUI.  Just a reminder as you celebrate the 4th of July – Please don’t drink and drive.
Walgreens announced last week that it plans to close more than 100 stores across the country by the end of next summer.  150 stores will close by the end of August 2024.  Walgreens says the move it due to lagging sales.  The list of closing locations has not been released.
