The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a stolen truck.  The theft happened Tuesday when a silver 2014 Dodge Ram 4×4 with Tennessee tags was stolen from a residence in Chickamauga.  Tennessee tag number BNL5480.  It was stolen from North Marble Top Road.  If you have any information on the theft, contact the Walker County Sheriff’s Office.
The Walker County Board of Commissioners will hold a budget work session on Monday.  The work sessions starts at 9am at the Walker County Civic Center in Rock Spring.  All county departments are scheduled to present during the session.  Among those presenting in the morning, the District Attorney’s office, animal services and probate court.  After a lunch break commissioners will hear from the sheriff’s office, the library, public works, 911 and the fire and rescue department.  The public is invited to attend.
According to the Georgia State Patrol 11 people were killed and nearly 250 people were injured in crashes over the Memorial Day travel period across the state.  The holiday period began at 6pm Friday and ended at 11:59pm on Monday.  There were over 500 traffic accidents state wide.  Nearly 500 individuals were arrested for DUI.
The McLemore golf course is getting more national attention.  The 18th hold at McLemore has been named the 22nd best hole in the country by Golf Digest.  It is the highest ranking in the state of Georgia and placed it in the top 3 in the southeast.
