The search continues for Graycie Millard.  The LaFayette Police Department continues to follow up on leads.  Authorities are trying to identify a woman seen in a CVS surveillance video with Graycie.  Police say they are not able to issue an Amber Alert but Graycie has been entered into the nationwide database for missing people.  
 
State Representative Mike Cameron (R-Rossville) was appointed to the Georgia Commission on Interstate Cooperation yesterday. Rep. Cameron’s commission term will run concurrently with the 2023-2024 legislative term of the Georgia General Assembly.  The Georgia Commission on Interstate Cooperation is responsible for carrying forward Georgia’s participation as a member of any regional, national or international nonpartisan legislative organization that promotes interstate or international cooperation.  This commission also works to encourage and assist the legislative, executive, administrative and judicial officials and employees of Georgia to develop and maintain friendly contact with officials from other states and the federal government.  Finally, this state commission formulates proposals to create interstate compacts; enact uniform or reciprocal statutes, administrative rules and regulations; foster cooperation of governmental officials and employees; and exchange research and information.

The first day of school coming up this week in Walker County.  School is back in session starting Thursday.  Chattooga County schools started back last week.  Dade County starts back on Friday.  Catoosa County students head back on Monday.

The Walker County Historic Preservation Commission will hold their next meeting on August 7th.  The meeting will be at the LaFayette-Walker County Public Library.  The meeting will be to plan for participation int eh 160th Battle of Chickamauga Reenactment.  The meeting will start at 6pm.
