The LaFayette Police Department continues to search for 14-year-old Graycie Millard. Police are continuing to follow up on leads. Graycie was last seen on July 27th. She’s between 5’3″ and 5’4″ and weighs approximately 100 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black jacket/hoodie and black shorts. The Walker County Detention Center reported 3 felony arrests on Saturday. 29-year-old Dakari Eugene Kelly was booked on several charges including possession of oxycodone and possession with the intent to distribute and DUI. 34-year-old female, Ashely Ann Walker faces charges of DUI, failure to maintain lane, possession of marijuana and methamphetamine, driving without insurance and on the wrong side of the road among other charges.
Dade County Deputies successfully intercepted a large U-Haul truck transporting a stolen Kubota tractor on Saturday morning. The action unfolded after a Trenton City Police Department Detective alerted Dade County Deputies that the U-Haul, carrying the stolen tractor, was possibly heading towards Back Valley Rd. The detective had been tipped off by the owner of the stolen tractor, who was closely following the U-Haul. The stolen tractor had been reported missing from Alabama the previous week, and the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office had already put out an alert for its recovery. Dade County Deputies located the U-Haul parked at a residence on Byrds Chapel Dr. Upon confronting the suspect/driver, a confrontation ensued between the Deputies and the suspect. The suspect was apprehended. After a search of the U-Haul, the stolen Kubota tractor was found, and it was promptly returned to its owner. As a result of the incident, the suspect is now facing multiple felony charges and has been remanded to the Dade County Jail.
The Walker County Board of Commissioners will have three meetings on Thursday. Two will be millage rate hearings. The first millage rate hearing will take place at 8am at the Walker County Civic Center. The second happens at 6:30 at the Courthouse Annex III on South Main Street in LaFayette. The regular meeting begins at 7pm. It’s also at Annex III.
