Severe thunderstorms moved through the area yesterday.  The storms brought high winds that resulted in downed trees and power lines.  Many in Walker County were left without power.  As of 10pm last night only 57 homes in Walker County were still without power.  Nearly 700 were still without power in Dade County.

Catoosa, Dade and Walker Counties have the cheapest gas prices in the state.  It’s $3,56 per gallon for regular unleaded gas in the area.  State wide gas prices are up 11-cents in the last week.  44-cents more than in July.  AAA says that due to the softening of oil prices, fuel prices may drop soon.
The Chattanooga Area Food Bank is expanding into Northwest Georgia.  Statistics show that one in nine people are food insecure in Georgia.  The new Northwest Georgia Branch opens in Dalton tomorrow.
