The Honeybee Festival gets underway tomorrow in downtown LaFayette. Admission to the festival is free. Plenty of fun for the entire family. Live music headlined tomorrow night by Chris Janson. Food vendors, arts and crafts, inflatables and much more. The activities start at 9am tomorrow morning.
There were six felony bookings in the Walker County Detention Center on Wednesday. James Alan Gentry was arrested on possession of cocaine charges. There were also two DUI arrests in the county.
Georgia Northwestern is having an open house Monday for their nursing program. The event allows potential students the opportunity to tour the facility and meet the instructors. The open house will happen at the GNTC campus in Rock Spring on Monday from 4pm to 6pm. GNTC offers an Associates of Science degree in Nursing.
CHI Memorial has been named one of the top 15 health systems in the country. This marks the 3rd year in a row the health care provider has received the honor. The list is created by Premier INC and is reported in Forbes magazine. 355 hospitals across the country were evaluated using medicare data that is publicly available.
