The Walker County Detention Center reports two felony arrest from Saturday.  At 7 o’clock Saturday night 29 year old Justin Casey Steel was booked and charged with stealing a motor vehicle.  Steel also faces drug related charges including possession of meth.  27 year old Christian Tyler Senn was charged with reckless driving, speeding and several other traffic violations along with possession of meth.

Walker County continues to grow.  The latest census information from July of last year says that the county now has nearly 70-thousand residents.  68, 915 is the official number.  That’s up 1,255 additional residents from the 2020 census count.    

Georgia Northwestern Technical College will hold a career fair tomorrow.  The event happens from 10 to 1 at the conference center in Building H on Floyd County’s campus in Rome.  More than 30 employers will be on hand to provide information and discuss employment opportunities.
