A new exhibit has opened at the Walker County African American Museum and Cultural Center. The exhibit highlights the career of Kenneth “Bubble Gum” Batie. “Bubble Gum” was the first African-American disc jockey on WLFA back in 1979. He later hosted a radio show in Atlanta for two decades. The new exhibit will be dedicated at 2pm on Saturday afternoon. The Walker County African American Museum and Cultural Center is located at 309 North Main Street in LaFayette.

The LaFayette swimming pool is set for some renovations. According to the city the work will start on the pool after this current swim season ends.

The June Jam is set to return to Fort Payne this summer. The concert, hosted by the group Alabama, is back after a 26 year absence. The headliners will feature Jamey Johnson, Jake Owen and Randy Travis. Other performers include, The Oak Ridge Boys, Exile, Mark Willis, Neal McCoy and others. The event happens in Fort Payne on June 3rd.
