57 year old James William Allred is facing multiple charges including DUI after being arrested this weekend.  Allred crashed Saturday evening off the side of Pigeon Mountain.  Allred was traveling in a Ford Ranger and lost control on Rocky Lane.  The vehicle overturned before crashing into a tree.  Allred and a 17 year old female passenger were transported to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga with non-life threatening injuries.  Allred faces DUI and felony charges including violation of probation.
The City of Lafayette mourns the passing of volunteer fire fighter Hugh Denton.  The city said in a social media post that Denton spent more than 40 years of dedicated service to the city of Lafayette.

Gas prices remain steady in the state of Georgia.  According to Triple-A, Georgia drivers are paying an average of $3.25 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.  That’s 8-cents less than a month ago and 88-cents less than this time last year.  If you have a 15 gallon tank, it will cost you $48.75 to fill it up.
