Friday night the Lafayette Police Department held two check points on main roads leading into the city.  The check points resulted in 7 DUI’s and two felony arrest in a four hour period.

Gov. Brian Kemp signed a bill into law Friday creating a new commission empowered to discipline and remove wayward prosecutors .The Prosecuting Attorneys Qualifications Commission, which will launch July 1 and start accepting complaints Oct. 1.  The law parallels pushes to remove prosecutors in Florida, Indiana, Missouri and Pennsylvania, as well as broader disputes nationwide over how certain criminal offenses should be charged.
 
Congrats to members of the LaFayette Track and Field team.  Seven members are headed to the state championships.  LaFayette football will play a spring game Friday night against North Murray.  Kickoff is set for 7pm at North Murray.
