The Walker County Democratic Party is hosting a community building event on Saturday. The workshop is non-partisian in nature and open to everyone. The public is invited to help develop ways of talking with those who may disagree with you on important matters. Tickets are $30. If your under the age of 30, it’s only $15. The event happens Saturday from 11:30am to 2:30pm at the Walker County Civic Center.
Georgia Northwestern Technical College is hosting an open house. The event happens Thursday from 10am to 6pm. It’s going on at all GNTC campus’ including the Walker County campus at 265 Bicentennial Trial in Rock Spring. It’s an opportunity to learn more about the programs offered at GNTC, tour the facilities and meet the faculty and staff.

The 2023 Georgia High School football Hall of Fame class has been announced. The 40 member class will be inducted in a ceremony on Saturday October 21st. Among those from North Georgia in this years class…Ronnie Brown from Catersville, John Davis from Gilmer and Keith Henderson from Cartersville. Others in the class include former Georgia quarterbacks DJ Schockley and Mike Bobo. Former Dallas Cowboy and Falcons Head Coach Dan Reeves and former Georgia Tech coach Pepper Rogers.
