The annual Honeybee Festival starts tomorrow in downtown LaFayette.  The Honeybee Festival Eve begins today.  The event is free.  The steak competition is later today and the music begins at 7 tonight.  Tomorrow’s festival is headlined by country music artist Matt Stell and Drake Milligan.  Enjoy downtown LaFayette and the Honeybee Festival this weekend.

The Walker County Detention Center reported 12 felony arrests on Wednesday.  58-year-old William Preston Teems and 52-year-old Kenneth Eugene Bankston were both booked on possession of meth charges.  49-year-old Cornell Lamont Knowles has been charged with possession of cocaine, meth and a schedule II all with the intent to distribute.
It’s been four months since an assisted living facility in Rossville announced it was closing.  According to News Channel 9 in Chattanooga, several employees of Martha and Mary’s Personal Care say they still haven’t been paid.  The former employees say the are considering hiring an attorney in an attempt to get their past wages.
