Annie “Anna” Joyce Bonds

Annie “Anna” Joyce Bonds, age 82, resident of Horton, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Marshall Medical Hospital, Boaz, Alabama.
Mrs. Bonds, daughter of the late Thomas Hubert Carr and Georgia Laverne Kelly Carr, was born December 27, 1941 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She worked many years at H&R Block and also Ken Smith Auto Parts before she retired. Mrs. Bonds was a member of Wallaceville Baptist Church. She was also very involved in her community where she was a founding member of the VFW Motorcycle Club, East Ridge/Legion Riders, Post 95; member of the Moose Lodge, Anniston, Alabama; member of the Elks Lodge, Guntersville, Alabama, and member of VOVMC. Mrs. Bonds loved holidays, particularly Christmas. She also enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and animals later in her life. While at home, she enjoyed crocheting/sewing and listening to gospel music. The family remembers her as a kind, friendly, and outgoing lady who always included everyone-and would open up her table at home for meals to anyone.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Bill Bailey; sister, Patricia Trusley; brother, Donald Benton; and step-sons, Ernest Bailey, Daniel Bailey, and Dennis Bailey.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard Bonds; two sons, Mike (Mary) Bailey and Daryl (Jennifer) Bailey; step-daughter, Connie (Mark) Higgins; brother, Johnny (Julie) Varner; close friends, Linda and Jerry Hayes; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, 555 West Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, 2 p.m. with Reverend Michael Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. and also on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 1-2 p.m.
