Brenda Joyce Farmer Smith

Brenda Joyce Farmer Smith, age 79, of Chickamauga, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Born in Flat Rock, Brenda made North Georgia her home since 1961. She was a faithful member of Flintstone Baptist Church and lived a life centered on her Christian faith, love for family, and service to others.
Brenda retired from the Fort Oglethorpe Florist after more than ten years of dedicated service. She was a loving and devoted Christian lady who found great joy in planting flowers, quilting, and creating a warm and welcoming home for those she loved. Brenda also treasured traveling to her favorite destinations, especially the beaches of Florida and the Great Smoky Mountains.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Clyde George Smith; her parents, Edna Lucy Lewis Morrow and Sammy Morrow; her son, Steven Smith; and her dear friend, Juanita Gordy.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Tony Smith, Connie Blevins, Susan (Craig) Neilson, and Angela (Shane) Hurley; siblings, Anna (David) Stevens, Preston (Peggy) Farmer, and Robert Farmer; grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Caitlyn Smith, James (Ashley) Blevins, Joey Blevins, Megan (Jeff) Chastain, Jacob Stoker, Taylor (Brent) Henson, and Erin Hurleyr; 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A funeral service to celebrate Brenda’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home - J. Avery Bryan Chapel with Bro. Terry Ridley officiating. Interment will follow at New Salem Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, and prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
