Bro. Ronnie Goins
October 18, 1949 - October 20, 2024

Ronnie Goins, 75, of Chickamauga, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

When you look up the meaning of Ronnie, it comes as no surprise that it means "ruler" or "true image." To those who knew him, he was exactly that: the perfect picture of what a leader should be. In the midst of life's unknowns and changes, he remained a constant. Papaw was always Papaw—a true apostle of Jesus, so filled with the Spirit that it overflowed into every moment. A man who never met a stranger and, despite being hard of hearing, was a better listener than most.

He was love personified. Whether you knew him as Ronnie, Brogue, or Papaw, his fullness of joy radiated through every conversation, sermon, and hug. To be loved by him was to experience glimpses of how much Jesus loves us. The most beautiful expression of his heart was in the way he loved his family. His love for his wife was both gentle and bold, filling every corner of their home. The way he loved her shaped all of us, teaching that while love may not always be easy, it is always worth it.

His life was the greatest example of what it means to be truly surrendered to Jesus. If his hands weren't covered in grease from working on cars, they were turning the pages of his Bible. Not only did he know the Word of God, but he lived it every day. Though he may no longer be with us in person, pieces of him remain in us all—his spiritual wisdom, his knack for fixing anything, and his constant words of encouragement. And for that, we are forever blessed.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Karen Goins; children Ronnie Jr. (Debbie) Goins, Tiffany (Cody) Goins, TT (Mistie) Goins, Tonya (Sean) Henderson, Christopher (Alyssa) Goins, Crystal (Sean)Thomas, and Tera Fuller.

The family has arranged for a time to remember and honor Ronnie.
