Charles Wayne Cordle, Sr. age 85, of LaFayette, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024. He was born on November 7, 1938 in Trion, Georgia to the late Daniel Charles “D.C.” and Velma Mae Williams Cordle. He spent his childhood in East Lake, where he went to City High School, after his family moved to LaFayette, he transferred and graduated from LaFayette High School – Class of 1957. Wayne served his country in the United States Marine Corp and was a proud veteran. He was the owner and operator of M & W Fire Sprinkler Company. Wayne enjoyed gardening, mowing his yard and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He attended Woodstation Baptist Church in Catlett, Georgia. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children: Marjorie Jo Gaines Cordle, their daughter: Deborah Mae “Debbie” Russell and brother: Doug Cordle. Wayne is survived by his loving and devoted wife: Evelyn Anderson Eckstein Cordle of LaFayette, GA, their children: Margaret Renee’ Cordle (Richard) Cox of Chattanooga, TN, son-in-law: Mark Russell of Murfreesboro, TN, Charles Wayne (Richelle) Cordle, Jr., of Ooltewah, TN, DeeAnn (David) Pullen, Kenneth “Kenny” (Christi) Eckstein all of Cleveland, TN, grandchildren: David Morrison, Stephanie Russell Hillard, Justin M. Russell, Elizabeth Cordle, Jake Pullen, Jack Pullen, Kendall Eckstein, several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Tuesday from 1:00 pm until the service. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm – Tuesday – November 5, 2024 in the chapel with Pastor: Damon Perry officiating. Burial will follow in LaFayette Memory Gardens.
