Danny Lamar Franklin, 69, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away on January 31, 2025. Danny was born on February 3, 1955, to Benjamin and Betty Jo in Ringgold, GA. He attended school in Ringgold through the eighth grade, at which time he started working to help his family. Occupations included farming, textiles, and numerous construction jobs. Later, he owned and operated a BBQ wagon called Fat Boys BBQ while running a snowball truck in the summer. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. His favorite places to visit were Townsend, Tennessee and Cades Cove-Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Danny was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin Willie Franklin and Betty Jo Lynn, and his sister Linda (Clifford) Jones. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Gloria Ann Franklin; his sons Christopher Lynn Franklin (Shakara), Jack Lewis McKenley III, and James Scott McKenley (Melanie). Grandchildren include Jessica Stacy, Hannah Matthews (Curt), Samuel McKenley, Noah Franklin, Matthew McKenley (Destiny), Jacob McKenley, Brianna Shears (Paul), Emily McKenley, Christopher Franklin, Isabella Franklin, Peyton McKenley, and Ryan McKenley. Great grandchildren include Jodi Franklin and Nathaniel McKenley. Siblings include Nina Pelletier (Bob), Benny Franklin (Ana), Charles Franklin (Leslie), Tammy Pass, Crystal Lynn, and Wesley Lynn (Michelle) and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service on Saturday. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in the Wilson Funeral Homes Wallis ~ Stewart Chapel. Online guest book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.
