David Keith Kelley
April 8, 1965 - July 21, 2026

David Keith Kelley, 61, of Rock Spring, GA, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, at his home. He was born on April 8, 1965, in Fort Oglethorpe, GA, to Jo Kelley and the late Kenneth, (Shotgun) Kelley, of LaFayette, GA.

David was of the Christian faith and a member of Peavine Baptist Church in Rock Spring, GA. He was originally from LaFayette, GA, where he grew up and graduated from LaFayette High School, a year early, in 1982. He later received his Associates Degree from Northwestern Technical College. He began working at Pruetts Food Town, LaFayette, GA, in 1981 and worked there until 1983 when he began his career at Coca-Cola. He worked at Coca-Cola for 43 years, starting in LaFayette, GA, then to Fort Oglethorpe, GA, and finally in Chattanooga, TN, as a Retail Sales Manager, where he was still employed upon his death. He held many positions over the years and worked his way up within the company. The position he was most proud of was Sales Center Manager in Jasper, GA. Thanks to his Coca-Cola family, he had many opportunities and adventures in his lifetime that he was so thankful for. David was a son, husband, father, grandfather, mentor and true friend.

He loved his family dearly and enjoyed his 15 grandkids, Journey Kelley, Brody Shipp, Brantley Kelley, Ava & Emma Debord, Chloe Kelley, Landon Kelley, Haley Kelley, Kash Kelley, Delilah S., Novalee S., Curtis Smith, Brentlee Smith, Anslee Smith, and Dani Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 34 years, Laura Wyant Kelley, his daughters, Candace (Edd) Smith, Katie Kelley and son, Cody (Rachel) Kelley, all of Rock Spring, GA, his mother, Jo Kelley, of LaFayette, GA, sister, Tena (Stewart) Thompson, of LaFayette, GA, brothers, Ken (Cindy) Kelley of Gulf Breeze, FL and Tim (Holly) Kelley of Rock Spring, GA.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate David’s life at a visitation on Thursday July 23, from 4-8 PM at Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. A memorial service will begin at 11 AM Friday July 24, in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home followed by burial at Peavine Baptist Church.
