Douglas Allen Duvall, 67, of LaFayette, GA went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 21, 2024. A caring father, loyal friend to many, and a larger-than-life presence, Doug was known for his work ethic, love of life, appreciation of nature, and unwavering loyalty to those he cared about. He relished warm weather, so he spent as much time as possible in Florida. However, he remained a Georgia boy at heart and always rooted for the Bulldogs.
For much of his life, Doug was a proud pipe fitter and entrepreneur, owning and operating his own fire protection business. His dedication to his craft along with his talent, commitment to quality, and strong work ethic, made him respected in his field. He was a man who took pride in a job well done, was no stranger to hard work, and never hesitated to lend a hand to others in need.
He was a beloved figure to all who knew him due to his generosity, good nature, optimism, and humor. Doug will be remembered for his kind heart, smile, and ability to make everyone feel like family. He was a man who was deeply caring, easy to love, and always gave his all in everything and to everyone. He was one of a kind; to know him was to love him. Doug will forever be missed and remembered fondly.
He is preceded in death by his father, D.A. Duvall, and his brother, Ricky Duvall. Doug is survived by his mother, Ruby Duvall; fiancé, Robin Tola; daughters, Chastity (Jason) Steadman, Jamie Simmons, and Shauna Duvall; grandchildren, Matt Steadman, Aubrey Steadman, Ava Simmons, and Noah Simmons; sisters, Vickie (Eddie) Wilson, Teresa (Ed) Jones, and Lisa (Barry) Proctor; brother, Jeff (Amy) Duvall, and several nieces and nephews.
His daughters would like to extend a special thank you to Teresa Jones and Robin Tola for the exceptional care and remarkable dedication they have shown him during his illness.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 23 from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at Second Baptist Church on Sunday, November 24 at 2pm. Pallbearers will be Edward Jones, Christian Proctor, Robby Proctor, Ryan Scott, and Thomas Wilson. Pastor Jeff Duvall will officiate. To best honor Doug’s generous spirit and caring nature, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity that benefits a specific passion of his: Wounded Warrior Project, Georgia Fraternal Order of Police, Shriners Hospitals for Children, or Fraternity of the 4 Paws.
Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
