Edward Saylor Green
December 17, 1939 - November 24, 2024

Edward Saylor Green, 84, of Chickamauga, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 24, 2024. He was born in Greensboro, North Carolina and was a lifelong Methodist. Ed lived in the Chickamauga area for over forty years and attended Elizabeth Lee Methodist Church. He was a humble and talented man with a strong work ethic, who loved helping and encouraging people. Ed shared his talents by making beautiful woodworked pieces. Throughout the years, he quietly made custom furniture and occupational therapy toys for physically challenged children and adults for the Signal Center of Chattanooga. He crafted many pieces for churches, including crosses, Advent candle holders, and toy nativity scenes. His love for his family and community was unwavering, and he will be greatly missed.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents, John Edward and Lucille Saylor Green.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of sixty-six years, Jacqueline Green; children Jan (Eddie) Green Lindsey and Julie (Michael) Elaine Green Smith; grandchildren Christopher (Marybeth) Edward Smith, Dr. Matthew (Lilly) G. Smith, and Katie (Jason) Elizabeth Lindsey Owings; and great-grandchildren Liz, Evie, Saylor, Peyton, and Claire.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Food Pantry at Elizabeth Lee Methodist Church, PO Box 126, Chickamauga, GA 30707.
