April 19, 1935 - December 7, 2024
Elizabeth Anderson Carroll, 89, of East Ridge went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 7.
She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in East Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Willie Mae Anderson; sisters Julia Mae Deckard, Margaret Dinby, and Marie Anderson; brother Sam Anderson; son-in-law Neil Wiser.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Pastor John C. Carroll; daughter Nancy Wiser; daughter and son-in-law Joy and Tony Little; and three grandchildren Thomas (Justina) Wiser, Michelle (Steven) Burton, and Michael (Kathryn) Little; and six great grandchildren Maci, Lexi, and Alli Wiser and Angela, Robby and Anthony Burton; and several nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was a loving, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She spent her life serving and caring for others.
In summing up her life she said, “Don’t give up. Don’t be a quitter. The more we do for God, the more He does for us. Without Him, we would be nothing.”
“Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.” Proverbs 31:28 – 31
The family will receive friends at 9 a.m. on Thursday, December 12 with the funeral to follow at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Kidd, Rev. Stephen Kellogg, and Bill Hullander officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Baptist International Missions, Inc., 8614 Harrison Bay Rd, Harrison, TN 37341.
